How do I know if I have rising damp or condensation?+
Rising damp shows as a tide mark up to about a metre from the floor with salt deposits; condensation shows as black mould around windows, in corners and on cold external walls. A survey with moisture meters confirms which you have — the treatments are completely different.

What happens at a damp survey?+
We inspect internally and externally, take moisture-meter readings, check the damp course, ground levels and ventilation, and give you a written report on the cause and the recommended fix.
How long does damp proofing take?+
Most single-wall chemical DPC and replaster jobs take 2-3 days on site. The new render then needs 2-4 weeks to dry out before decorating.
Is damp proofing guaranteed?+
Yes. Our chemical DPC installations come with a written guarantee, and the salt-resistant replaster system is guaranteed against workmanship defects.
Can you get rid of black mould for good?+
Yes, provided the cause is fixed. We treat and remove the mould, then deal with the underlying moisture — a failed DPC, a defect letting water in, or a ventilation and condensation problem — so it does not simply return.
Do I need tanking or a chemical DPC?+
Chemical DPC injection is for rising damp in ground-floor walls. Tanking is a waterproof barrier used for cellars, basements and below-ground rooms under water pressure. The survey tells us which your property needs.
Can you replaster after damp treatment?+
Yes — we always replaster with a salt-resistant system as part of the job, so you get a finished, paint-ready wall rather than a bare treated one.
