FAQs

Common questions

Everything Manchester customers usually ask about new build plastering — timings, drying and what we need from you.

Can you provide RAMS and insurance?+

Yes — full RAMS, public liability and references on request.

Do you work to NHBC standards?+

Yes, every plot is finished to NHBC tolerances and signed off ready for snag.

How is plastering work in Manchester quoted?+

Every job is quoted individually after a site visit. What matters is the size of the room, ceiling height, access and how much prep or repair work is needed — so you get a fixed written quote rather than a rough figure over the phone.

How long does a room take to plaster?+

Most single rooms are skimmed in one day. A full house re-skim usually takes 3-7 working days, and damp proofing with replastering typically takes 2-3 days per affected wall.

How long before I can paint new plaster?+

Allow 3-7 days for fresh plaster to dry fully — longer in winter or on damp-proofed walls, which can need 2-4 weeks. Once it is a uniform pale colour with no dark patches, start with a mist coat of watered-down emulsion (roughly 70% paint, 30% water).

Do I need to move out while you plaster?+

No. We work room by room, sheet everything down and keep dust to a minimum, so you can stay in the property throughout. We only ask that the room being worked in is cleared of small furniture.

Are you insured and do you guarantee your work?+

Yes — we are fully insured with public liability cover on every job, and all workmanship is guaranteed. Damp proofing treatments carry a longer written guarantee, explained in your quote.

Which areas of Manchester do you cover?+

We cover all of Greater Manchester, including Manchester city centre, Salford, Stockport, Trafford, Didsbury, Chorlton, Altrincham, Sale, Prestwich, Bury, Oldham, Ashton-under-Lyne, Urmston, Wilmslow and everywhere in between. There is no travel charge inside Greater Manchester.

Do you offer free quotes?+

Yes. We visit, measure up, talk through the finish you want and send a fixed written quote — no obligation and no charge. Quotes are valid for 60 days.

Do you clean up afterwards?+

Always. Floors and fittings are dust-sheeted before we mix, and all waste, old plaster and packaging is bagged and removed when we finish.
