Plasterboarding & Dry Lining
Full dry-lining service for new partitions, stud walls and ceiling installs. Tape-and-jointed or skim-finished to suit the project.

Plasterboarding & Dry Lining in Manchester
Dry lining is the standard way to finish new partitions, stud walls and ceilings. We board to metal or timber stud, use the right grade of board for the room — moisture-resistant in bathrooms, fire-rated where Building Regs need it, acoustic in shared walls — and finish either taped-and-jointed or fully skimmed.
We work alongside builders and developers on jobs across Greater Manchester, programmed in to fit your trade sequence.
Standards we work to

Common questions
Everything Manchester customers usually ask about plasterboarding & dry lining — timings, drying and what we need from you.
Tape-and-joint or full skim?+
Skim gives the best finish under critical light and is what we recommend for most homes. Tape-and-joint is faster and fine for commercial fit-outs.
Can you board around services?+
Yes — we coordinate with electricians and plumbers so first fix is in before we close walls up.
How is plastering work in Manchester quoted?+
Every job is quoted individually after a site visit. What matters is the size of the room, ceiling height, access and how much prep or repair work is needed — so you get a fixed written quote rather than a rough figure over the phone.
How long does a room take to plaster?+
Most single rooms are skimmed in one day. A full house re-skim usually takes 3-7 working days, and damp proofing with replastering typically takes 2-3 days per affected wall.
How long before I can paint new plaster?+
Allow 3-7 days for fresh plaster to dry fully — longer in winter or on damp-proofed walls, which can need 2-4 weeks. Once it is a uniform pale colour with no dark patches, start with a mist coat of watered-down emulsion (roughly 70% paint, 30% water).
Do I need to move out while you plaster?+
No. We work room by room, sheet everything down and keep dust to a minimum, so you can stay in the property throughout. We only ask that the room being worked in is cleared of small furniture.
Are you insured and do you guarantee your work?+
Yes — we are fully insured with public liability cover on every job, and all workmanship is guaranteed. Damp proofing treatments carry a longer written guarantee, explained in your quote.
Which areas of Manchester do you cover?+
We cover all of Greater Manchester, including Manchester city centre, Salford, Stockport, Trafford, Didsbury, Chorlton, Altrincham, Sale, Prestwich, Bury, Oldham, Ashton-under-Lyne, Urmston, Wilmslow and everywhere in between. There is no travel charge inside Greater Manchester.
Do you offer free quotes?+
Yes. We visit, measure up, talk through the finish you want and send a fixed written quote — no obligation and no charge. Quotes are valid for 60 days.
Do you clean up afterwards?+
Always. Floors and fittings are dust-sheeted before we mix, and all waste, old plaster and packaging is bagged and removed when we finish.
